Important to realise that Green-One chopper has limited carrying capacity (game does not say what model of chopper Green-One is, or how many wounded need evac), so multiple sorties are necessary to medevac all wounded from battle area back to Base. This lack of clarity led me to concentrate on Alpha & Bravo combats, rather than simple medevac mission.
But actually, the main thing is to medevac C Company's wounded-once that is done, the scenario ends. Briefing says primary objective is to hold hill. Thanks for this-yes, I have just successfully completed the mission! :-) I order alpha and bravo engage the ennemies, with the support of artillery (over cheated, ennemies KIA: 66, wounded : 188)Īlpha and Bravo often asked me to medevac them, but I didn't do that and they won their combats. I succeed without medevac Alpha or Bravo (2 KIA, 15 wounded) you can let them hold their position. And so I, as the player, am left guessing.īravo and Alpha doesn't count for this part of the mission. Seems there is no top-down command structure, and no in-depth mission briefing, and no detailed OOB or TO&E. The order to "hold/dig in" comes from higher command echelon-but there is no way to contact my superior in game.

I'm unsure how to proceed because mission briefing does not give advice/info/guidance about how to react to dynamic situation. If Alpha morale cracks, I can order a retreat? Or evac them by chopper? But that would also lose mission "hold/dig in" objective? Or support Alpha with Bravo? If Bravo needs medevac but the terrain won't allow chopper to land, should I move Bravo to LZ (and thus lose mission "hold/dig in" objective) and evac from there? Or leave Bravo on the ridge with wounded that may die? Also would be nice if chopper tells me why they can't comply with orders. Originally posted by Javolenus:Thanks for reply. Also, game says I "lost your men from the battlefield", but seems none were KIA-so I presume they deserted (MIA) or were captured (POW)? Lost mission with score=0, WIA=52, KIA=0. Alpha keeps requesting evacuation, but when I check status they are OK. Green-One can't medevac Bravo platoon from Ridge, but no explanation given, and no hint on what to do.
Arty (Foxtrot) keeps telling me they're out of ammo but still complete firemissions & say they're "ready".
